In the page setup section of the layout tab click size. The templates are specifically designed to work with createspace and ingramspark and include the most common sizes used by authors.

Creating The Cover For Your Book And Getting It Print Ready

Heres three ways i am now creating my own book covers.

Createspace book sizes template. Create a new layer in your image editing software. For example if your trim size is 6 x 9 1524 x 2286 cm set the page size to 6125 x 925 1554 x 2346 cm. Then you must safe your document as a pdf with all fonts embedded into the document.

This opens a dialog box. Select the trim size for your book and simply download the template and begin writing or copypaste your work into the template. Next simply download in a zip file your choice of pdf or word doc.

Design your cover in the design layer using the template pdf or png file as the guide layer. And send over this template over to your book designer. How to use your template open the pdf or png file for the paperback book cover template in your image editing software.

This layer will serve as the design layer. Click on use custom dimensions and enter the book size. Select more paper sizes.

To change the page size in word. Canva has a template for kindle book covers but i always publish my paperback books first and use the front cover image for my paperback for my kindle book. With the createspace cover template calculator you fill in the number of pages your of your book the size of the book click on a button and your custom cover template is ready to download.

Enter your books trim size including bleed into the width and height fields.
